Air Lock Solution

Bleeding air out of heater hoses can be a problem. Paul Millen (of sheared flywheel bolts fame) came up with this solution. A trip to B&Q, ten minutes with the tube cutter and the solder and insert in the heater hoses at the bulkhead. No more air locks.

Hi.

Very good But I brought a device very similar to this from Donnington.

It's made of plastic is the correct size and has a thumbscrew to release the air.

Best of all it costed only £1

What's the brass looking thing at the top of the picture...???

The brass looking thing is an air bleed vent normally found at high points on central heating systems.

Piddy, if I'd seen them at Donnington I would have bought two, but I didn't so I couldn't so I made two. Size is OK. My heater hoses have about a 13mm int bore which is a tightish silicon lubed push fit. Will have to make do till I can get some pukka ones. Have you got details of where I can buy them?
