Webber 2v Running Lean- How To Increase Fuel...

Hi,

I think iam running a little lean on my 1.6 pinto as its not pulling as hard as i would expect and pinks a little. Ive checked the timing and can only think that it could do with a bit more fuel. I have a big air filter that is open all the way round so its probably quite likely ive diluted it a bit.

 

Is there a simple screw to turn to increase the fuel on the webber 2v carb or is that a garage job?

You'll need to increase the jet size to richen it up a bit, try fastroadcars on ebay, he's good with Weber carbs. Is your float level correct and are you sure you haven't got a minor air leak?

hmmm maybe i'll check for airleaks and check the float while iam at it, it was a second hand carb so i havent bothered to open it up yet could probably do with a blow through anyhow. hopefully that'll do the trick. Thanks

Hi Ryan,

After a visit to Bogg Bros, my carb was deemed to be running too lean. Purely down to the foam air filter.

There's details of what the jets were upped to on there. Basically:

Primary Main Jet: Was 140 (Now 150) could go to 160. Secondary Main Jet: Was 140 (Now 145) could go to 150.

Thanks for that, if it doesnt get better after a bit of tinkering then a re-jet might be a good idea. Thanks for the info on jets.
