Lowering A Series 3a

Recommended Posts

4 days post SVA and already have modified the speedo sender wire and fixed horn, next job is to look at a screen of some sort but i also fancy dropping the back down an inch.

I have wound the springs up to compress them as much as i can but still a 2 inch gap, i don't fancy any serious modifications to the shock mount at this time.

There are about six washers under the coil over threaded tube that should drop it a bit but the springs go loose at full rebound.

Question do Gas, Proshocks etc have more adjustmens available than the zimmers and do i need a stronger but shorter spring?

Er.......You could try winding the springs down to uncompress them. This often works better for lowering. ;) (If they jiggle free when you jack up the car adding 25lb spacer springs will take up the gap.)

Where are your coil overs mounted? In the spring pan or off the back of the swing arm?

Just seen the pics of your car on the SVA thread. Needs to be lowered back and front. Lowering just the back gives a very unstable feel to the car.
