Fitting Oil Coolers

lets hope there is someone out there who can help and guide me. I am looking at fitting an Oil Cooler to a 1.8 Zetec (XR3i) located in my 2B+, the oil filter I have on at present is very close to the steering column going through the engine bay to the rack, once I fit the sandwich plate the oil filter will then hit this column. Does anyone know if they produce a space saver filter which is shorter and if so where would I get such filter.

Thank you so much?

If your fitting the oil cooler you might as well fit a remote filter in the line as well. you get a cap for where the filter went = more clearance - job done :D

Thanks any idea and direction where these can be purchased, obviously this will mean replacing the sandwich plate with a different fitting?

Zetecs like their oil hot or wear rate will go up some. Thermostat would be a good idea if you must fit a cooler. My Zetec 2.0L is happy temperature and pressure wise without a cooler.

Champion C104 oil filter from Halfords is shorter than the standard mondeo oil filter.
