More Sump Troubles!

Getting really frustrated now!

 

OK. The sump is off now which is good news but I'm now having trouble getting it out.

 

Has anyone got the sump off a 2B without taking the engine out? I've undone the left engine mount and tried jacking the engine up but it's about 10mm short and still fouling the oil pump inside.

 

I'm not sure undoing the other engine mount is going to do the trick. Is it possible or am I wasting my time?

Hi, I unbolted the oil pickup and it came out a bit easier, the shortened one fitted with the pick up in place.

I had to take both engine mounts off and jack the engine up as far as it will go.

 

As Nico says jiggle it around so you can take the pickup off and with a bit of colorful language it will come out. Well mine did.

 

Once the pick up is shorter it goes back a bit easier as long as you use the same language.

Had to remove both mounts and loosen exhaust manifold and pull it clear too get it a bit higher

Mine came out with engine mount released on one side only but it's shortened.....
