Zx6r Carbs

Carbs popping off the rubbers, I know all about that :D mine did it too and when I shoved them back on I broke the fuel pipe and ended my run to stoneleigh this year.

Main problem is that at tickover there is massive vacuum in the inlet tract, which causes the rubbers to pulse and slip off the carbs, and as jubilee clips are too big for the job the carbs and rubbers soon part company.

You can either make brackets to hold the carbs in place - this is the way I went, or make alternative clamps from 6mm x 2mm steel strips, bent into what Trickie used to call a balloon clip with a small bolt to pull them tight - this is very similar to the proper bike rubber clips.

Glue might help, but could cause problems if you have to change thing later

On the bike they would have been held on by something like a thin Jubilee clip (or balloon clip described above). You can still buy them for most bikes.
