Part of this winters "tinkeritus" is a dash rebuild.

 

I never got round to fitting a cigar lighter, but with satnav and mobile phones etc. I think I need one and I have just fallen across this.

 

For those still building it looks like it will be SVA compliant.

I have fitted a 3 way unit stuck up behind the dash but on the camper I have used this socket from maplins has the advantage of being a round hole fixing and waterproof, one is fitted externally for the awning and is weathering well.

surely a normal 12v socket with a cover will be ok? aslong as the cover doesnt have spikes on it!

 

Hope so cos i just bought one for my kit and dont wanna have to change it

Hi Ian

 

I think its since you added the pics of the posh car, it makes the posts to wide for the screen and you have to scrole across to see the whole post? well on my screen anyway

 

not really a problem but it took a while (ok I'm a bit slow) to see the link in your first post.
