Won't work on my plastic bucket However this is not that different to another technique I saw which used a compressed air can (turn it upside down and fire it for icy air)

You can buy a freeze-spray used by plumbers to freeze water pipes temporarily to make repairs. That would do it.

I've seen that one... there is also a "dent king" kit where you glue a cup to it & then pull it out. Afterwards you use a release agent to dissolve & clean up the glue, a couple of friends have used it successfully.
