Need to know what rev counter you are using and what engine/ignition system. If it's all sierra and you pickup signal from the negative terminal on the coil (i.e. standard) then fitting a diode in the signal line will cut the electrical interference (which is a common cause). Part was diode 1n4001 from Maplins for pennies. Can't remember which way round it has to fit. Try both ways or find further advice from someone who knows about electronics?

You don't need a rev counter for SVA.

Hi bobster , i know my exhaust was loud but you don't have to shout, it was a RH twin pipe , the fix was stuff an exhaust tail pipe finisher with S/S scourers and bolt it onto the RH tail pipe , dropped mine to 98bd

A couple of us have 2Bs with early (points) ignition & the Escort dassh that was supplied with the kit.

They both overread by about 1/3 rd so I guess some electronic wizardry is needed.

A friend in the electronics game said he could fit a "capacitor???" in th efeed line or something like that.

& match it to a stand alone revcounter by tril & error. But hes in Oz until late April.

Anyone help further?
