Super Charger

Has anyone supercharged a pinto on here, always wanted a turbo or supercharger. I was looking for ideas for a doner car to supply the supercharger

Its got to be easier than a turbo to put together, with similar results.

I would think the supercharger from one of the recent mini S's is a good candidate... Or one from a Volks GT40, GT60. They're compact too.

I looked at using a supercharger origionally, but then decided a Turbo was easier!

 

Superchargers tend to be fairly large, often have unhelpfully shaped inlets or outlets, need to be very solidly mounted and are a bit limited with how you can package them (nose of the charger needs to be in the same plane as your accesory belt) --- just a few things to consider. That said, it would be cool to see one in a Hood!

 

One of the rotary superchargers might be worth a look, nice & dinky:-

there is a few on utube enter pinto supercharger , there was a capri efi with one fitted
