Radiator Mounting

Hi All

 

I am about to mount the radiator in my Sub-K. It is the Robin Hood supplied one. On one web site I saw a guy who had installed it using 1 1/2" U-clamps (the exhaust ones). This looked really neat but afforded no shock protection. Should I look at an alternative method or is their no problem with bolting straight to the chassis?

Mines been just bolted into the series 111 for 6000miles and haven't had any problems. No squishy rubbery bits, etc. Do it the easy way!

Ditto Nigel's reply. Mines just bolted on as well.

Hi Paul,

I've used the U bolts now for 5000 miles no problem.

If you're worried, just place a rubber pad between the radiator &

the chassis tube before tightening the U bolt.

yep, i agree

 

mines on with simple p-clips and nuts and bolts no probs so far, not driven far yet but engine runs fine, doesnt rattle or anything.

Same. supplied rad bolted straight to front crossmember using existing rad lugs. No probs in 7 years. This almost shows it: engine bay

I used rubber mounts but it seems that this is not needed
