Dash Rebuild

All the wiring is done apart from one wire which I need to run from the oil sender unit. It took a while to sort out the mess that lay beneath the dash. There had been at some time in the past an electrical fire under there as one of the blocks had melted through and a direct short had occurred, but I have sorted that all out now.

I also need to put the temp and oil senders in, and secure the dash! I've taken my time kept it all neat and tidy, soldered all the wiring rather than just crimp them, so hopefully no pull-outs.

It will be finished tomorrow, without doubt

Looks good, but does it work?

Still got to sort out the gaiters and secure the bottom switch panel. Too scared to turn ignition on :o :o :o

(not sure what has happened to the picture, but piping looks like it is wonky, but it definately isn't! Of course, you'll have to take my word for it :D )

A few little teething problems........

I have no alternator warning lamp, even though I have the blue wire going to the lamp. Not sure whats going on because there isn't 12v coming from it. I have good earth as everything else is ok.

I have put both indicator wires onto one warning lamp, but both indicators work when one is activated. I think it's just when the power goes to illuminate the warning lamp, the power is going back to the other and causing it to illuminate. I think a diode in-line on both wires will sort that out?

Jamie, I just stapled the piping on!

Ignition lamp should have 12v supply to it from an ignition controlled feed, then the blue wire back to the alty.

Indicators, is it a two pin warning lamp? if yes, just run the postive from each indicator to a terminal each, no earth required and they should work, don't ask me how it does it, I just remember Nigel posting it a while back.

Thank you Steve. Both make sense. I was sitting here going thru the manual and really scratching my head, as nothing was making sense! I will give it a go in the morning. Will let you know.

:D :D :D :D :D ALL SORTED :D :D :D :D :D

Indicators now work independently, Alternator light now works AND goes out when engine runs.

Sorted the fog light problem too!

Thanks to all who advised and gave words of appreciation.

I will post a final pic when all is back together.

Regards

Darren
