S7 Rear Suspension

Has anyone got any suggestions as how to lift the rear of the car? the rear wheels catch on the wheel arches when driving with a passenger at speed over bumps.

The car is fitted with std shocks and rear coil springs in good condition, just passed MOT. Is there a good shock that could replace the existing shocks that would lift the car.

If you look at the top of the suspension, you might find it fixes into a tube that slides into the roll bar (depending on model).

Shift this down 1/2 and inch will give you about 1.5 inches more clearance at a guess :)

If your setup uses standard Sierra springs in the standard place then the options are to space the upper spring mount under the boot floor down.

Use rubber spring assisters like you could get for towing or buy some longer springs.

Perhaps the springs from the estate version would be a bit longer.

Hi,

Contact a company called DEFLEX based in wales, get a pair of sierra/escort cosworth rear spring top bushes, they pushed the height of my S7 up by an inch.

They are made of the same material that the polybushes are made from, and fit very well.. Best bit is the price! Deflex usually sell a full sierra polybush kit for under 70 quid :) so these on there own shouldnt be expensive.
