Are you you trying to register the car as new? If so, will GBS provide a receipt for all your parts if purchased there?

Do you have the V5 from the donor?

Has the original owner got any receipts?

Ok mate

in that case , when you bought the car mate did you get a receipt for teh kit?? if you got it form EBay then that you coudl use that as proof of purchase etc.

have you bought any more parts that you may have a receipt for?

I am surprised they will not test as to me the only thing that could happen is they will give you a Q as you cannot prove all of the parts came from your donor vehicle. Did they give you any advice on what they wanted to see in this section?

got the v5's for both sierra and galant

Speak to Richard at GBS to see if he has a record of the sale. I believe companies have to keep financial records for several years (although the company has changed hands on two occasions). I'm sure they will be able to help.

They said because I have no receipts I cannot prove the car has not been profesionaly built, the person I got it from is a car trader who took it as a part ex and has no contact details for the builder I have the car, two log books and photos thats it.

If I want to apply for amateur built saying I built it they want receipts for all major components with photos and logbooks aswell as a receipt for the original kit from robin hood

Im very tempted to mot, tax and insure it as a sierra so I can get it on the road without setting off all the anpr's

As suggested, try GBS they will advise you on the best way forward.

Hi,

Might be a long shot............ but could you put some pics up on here of the car??

You never know, the original builder might be on here or at least someone who recognises it??

If so, it may possibly be a jackpot for you??

Fingers crossed for you.

If you can't get hold of any receipts, and I hope you do, what are the alternatives ? Could your car be IVA'd under class 'C' ? Not sure what the further implications of this are but the IVA application form requires the donor registration number and a list of the major parts used from the donor vehicle.

What are the consequences of taking this route, i.e. the route of (taken from the IVA application form) "A vehicle built by a person in the business of building vehicles, using parts of a vehicle registered in the UK" ?

It's probably not possible, you'd probably have to prove it's a business, accounts etc, just thinking of the alternatives that's all.

Cheers

Keith
