Hmmm... your right the top arms seem to be one part narrow item

I think its an older kit, its very narrow, i think the rear axle could be Escort

oh, is this not a Robin Hood?

Looking at the chassis in the engine bay and the fact you say the rear axel may be Escort makes me think it is a locost. Or at least based on a Ron Champion build a car for £2.50, with modified front suspension.

I think its fair to say that its not a Robin Hood, never seen a Hood with box section space frame, as doddy says try Locost Builders web site.

Good Luck!

hold on a sec,

didn't they do a square section chassis about 6/7 years ago, lolocost or something!

just my penny's worth.

i agree it doesn't compare to the north west hoodies comparison table but it could be a chassis with mk bodywork or something.

dont write off the whole car, there's loads of experience and help just a few clicks away.

folk here have everything from hoods, mk's, westies, quantums and a few more interesting se7ens as well.

you wanted a car that you could build and thats what you have.

not every car is simply bolted together like a caterham, some have to be built.

Give it a go first and if you decide that its not for you then readvertise it, i doubt you will lose out money wise.

Hi Dave

I wouldnt have bid on it if it was advertised as a locost/haynes/another

There are other issues too, this has definately been used on the road, there is telltale signs all over the car which means its most likely Stolen/insurance job/ID used on another Kit

I just have a feeling its going to bite me on my ass

Bit bummed at the mo

Hi,

iirc the lolocost chassis was round formed tube, same kind of style as the 2b chassis although being the correct size to accept all of the locost parts. Although there may have been one before that in square. never saw one in the flesh but the round tube chassis looked pretty good and there was an irs version as well(not that that really helps). The version iam thinking of definitely didn't have inboard suspension.

good luck whatever you decide.

Hey guys,

I am new to owning a robin hood

Won and Collected this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Can anybody tell me what model this is, also does anybody reconise it? I dont care what the previous owner says in the listing this HAS been on the road in the past

Cheers in advance

Daz

Hi Daz,

Sorry you have had bad news with the car. The only way it seems it could be a Robin Hood is if it was one of Richard Stuarts prototype cars / abandond projects. Try here or GBS for contact details for Richard Stewart who started Robin Hood Engineering.

As the others say this is not a "production kit" that we hoodies recognise. Yes you seem to have been miss sold and unless the vendor has proof its a Robin Hood (bill of sale) then it isn't!

I  my :rhsc:
