This really is a "When they have gone they have gone" item as Richard and his Dad (John) have cut up the 2b jig. :cray:

So there will be no more new 2bs' ever. :rhsc: :cray:

Roll on the "Wide Bodied Zero"

Seems a bit extreme to cut up the jig, so if you buy one of these and then bend it after 100 miles you cannot get another?! I suppose its just like the end of a run for a production car, just seems a bit sad!

so if they have cut up the 2B jig then crash your 2B bad enough and thats it no more end of car...

There are thousands of 2b's out there sitting in garages with nothing to do. I wouldn't worry too much as ebay will have them for decades to come.

just a thought.... those people with the 2b and parts only insurance are going to be a bit scuppered arent they? i cant see insurance companies willing to pay out for second hand parts to repair a car...thinking of bent chassis here... any thoughts?

Like I said in an earlier post, its just like any other car going out of production. You can still insure a Mk1 Escort and they haven't been produced for about 35 years. It just seems so extreme to cut up the jig, surely it could have been stored or maybe they just want to move on and put the 2B to bed? I guess nobody likes change but change is gonna happen whether we like it or not

Customer service issues ? surely they should support there product into the future even if they are no longer going to manufacture it ? what about body panels wishbones grp etc are these all going to be dropped as well ? if so what would they cost to get remade bespoke if needed ?

They have a full set of fibreglass moulds, a full bending machine to make panels.

You would never need the full chassis making jig to make repair sections of a 2b chassis just a set of mesurements.

The "jig" as bad as it was, was only used to lay all the tubes on prior to welding them all together, so not really of any use for repairs.
