FAIL :(

but its a good fail

overall the tester was impressed with build quality.

heres the list

1. Front brake hoses just touching the top wishbone on full lock.

should be able to fix by slightly twisting hoses so they bend away from wishbone

2. Front brake hoses joint at caliper. tester needs to see thread so he knows its fully home.

need to remove hoses and prove the depth etc

3. Nearside wheel handbrake not efficent enough.

I will have wheels off & check shoes etc.

4. No symbol on fog telltale light

I have a seperate fog switch & telltale. the switch has a symbol on, so I printed a label saying "FOG TELLTALE" to stick under

the telltale but wasnt enough, easy fixed

5.Coolant water bottle not secure.

I have a drinks bottle for the rad spit/suck but only secured with cable tie, easy fixed

6. Spring washer missing from top steering column uj.

easy fix

I am very happy with that list as it wont take much sorting.

a few pics after the event.

I'll say Fantastic result.... well, next best to a pass anyway.

Like you say, a minimal snagging list thats an easy fix, well done mate. Testament to your build quality.

How did you fare with the harness' passing through the seat apertures? I've heard mixed tales of woe lately

regarding this?

Regards,

Nick.

Edit: Note to self.... look at pictures before asking questions! Doh!

I assume they where happy with the "round the seat" approach?

Brilliant there is nothing to technical there, what a relief it must be.

The car looks great, just be careful when you do get it through, that your fist ventures out will be on wet cold roads.

cheers everyone

i should have better nights sleep tonight.

If anyone wants any info or photos of anything, no probs.

For those that like to know the finer points:

emissions:

no cat 1992 Ford DOHC engine-fazer 1000 bike carbs

CO% target 3.5 - actual 0.24

HC PPM target 1200 - actual 151

exhaust noise:

target 99dba - actual 97.5dba (standard GBS exhaust stuffed with scourers & chicken wire)

speedo was reading about 10% over at 0-70mph (acewell digidash)

Weights: no driver

front 340kgs - rear 300kgs

Many thanks to Graham & Michael for the loan of their equipment

Cheers Paul :good:

not too bad a fail at all

congrats. hopefully easy fix for you.

1. do you have a link to your build pics?

2. what is the reason for putting seat belts around seat and not through apetures?

3. what brackets did you use or make for front indicators?

thanks

steve

hi steve

1. dont have a build diary, not organised enough to sort it.

2. on the zero the top belt fixings are not in line with the apetures, so in an accident they will put "strain" on the seat. So for the iva the seats would be classed as part of the car frame and would need extra strength on seat fixings. hope thats clear.

I just fixed my seats to floor with no extra bits.

3. I used the kit indicators, but cut the black plastic in half, shoved some pipe in to give correct length then covered it in neoprene handlebar grips (its easier to get the pipe in the plastic if you warm the plastic first)

Cheers Paul
