Hello James, there are a few hoodies in your neck of the wooods, the car was probably registered in the early/mid 90s but with the registration from the donor. Its good to identify the model you have as there are a few, it you go to here its the N W hoodie site and has a good guide to finding out which one you have. helps a lot when you are trying to solve problems!

Hi Ako,

we have a fairly active bunch in the NW and meet on the first Thursday of every month at the Poachers in Preston (just off M6). We also have a Christmas pudd run organised by our good leader (Mitch) on the 30th December. If you want to join the run, you will be more than welcome as there's usually a spare seat with one of the drivers.

If its a MK3 then the kits were produced from approx 1997 to 2000.

The date of first registartion will be for the donor sierra. Before SVA and well before IVA it was common to issue the V5 registartion based on the donor age not the date of conversion.

My Exmo was first on the road July 97 but is date of first registration November 83 which was the date the registration number was first issued to the donor sierra. In those days it was common to retain the registration number of the donor. As long as the V5 gives the make as robin hood not ford sierra then it is correctly registered.
