Fitment Of Spare Wheel

I've bought new minilites for my recent purchase Robin hood. after exposing the rear wheel from it's cover I noticed it was only sitting in the frame cradle and attached through the wheel bolt hole....take it with the supplied threaded rod c/w nuts.

the fuel tank is now in the way to fit another 1-3 threaded rods to hold the wheel against the body.

can you let me know if the 1 bolt connection is sufficient?

thanks

if you think about it this way the wheel when holding up the car is on 4 bolts and is carrying 250kg+ of car (one corner of a 1000kg car). When its just holding the wheel on the back of the car it is just holding itself on ~15kg of wheel and tyre. So other than making sure the nut doesn't come off (nyloc or thread lock) it shouldn't be a problem on a single bolt. On the 2b the weight will also be held by the wheel carrier with the bolt just holding it in place.

always amazes me how strong nuts/bolts are. take a look at the front suspension the entire front end is held up by the nut on each balljoint holding the hub!!! on second thoughts best not to think about it.

great point well said. I am planning on finding a tread lock nut as with the vibrations I would feel safer ....than stopping finding out I've lost my new wheel :-) I'll post pics soon so you guys know what car I have . not many if any rb2b owners up here in Scotland I don't think.
