Does Not Idle At All..

Hi,

I still have this awful idling problem with my 1800 w/pierburg carb.

 

It can only idle and stay 'alive' when it idles at minimum 1500 (when the main jets are working instead of the idle jet ?)

 

Can the idle jet get blocked.? or damaged, would it cause this..

If the idle jet was blocked this could happen, why not take out the jets and clean them? Or possibly better just get a Weber?

Ive taking the idle jet out, no blockage or damge, still doesnt idle.

I was looking at a 32/36 DGAV on ebay, but it went quite high - too much for me.

Tak, for the DGAV you will need the early manifold also as the flange fixings are different. Have you tried the locost builders site they sell lots of bits too?

Have you blown out the fuel and airways of the carb as there may just be dirt in there blocking the idle circuit.

An air leak anywhere into the manifold will cause those symptoms too...

Does it have a solenoid on the side with an ignition feed to it??? if it does and you have no power or valve not working it wont idle either or ditch the pierburg as they are *bleep*e lost count how many ive replaced with webber conversions in the past
