How are you doing it by only having a new engine and old gear boxes, diffs, uprights etc. I was under the impression you were only allowed one recon major component and everything else had to be brand new

you are correct, only one MAJOR component.

 

The Zero has far less of the donor vehicle than earlier kits, and those used are often untraceable as to origin.

 

so is a drive shaft new or reconditioned? a sales invoice is likely to say just "drive shaft" but they may get suspicious if it says ebay at the top

 

it then is a question of what the ministry regard as major, I don't think a drive shaft is, and what evidence you have to back up YOUR statements on the application form.

 

a private individual may have to provide more than a registered builder such as the factory, but if you state it is new and have evidence that it is likely it is, who can say it isn't.

 

however

 

you are then obliged to meet new car regulations, particularly emissions.

Just lump all gears 'n stuff under the general title of "Transmission" and you then have only one reconditioned part ...
