Electrical Problems

I have nearly finished my build and I have come across the following problems. I am using Smith Flight Gauges and plug and play looms.

 

Speedo sensor not working.

 

No charge light illuminating on the tacho

sound like wiring problem when you made conection to gauages re check wiring

pin outs.

Hi if the alternator brackets are powder coated this will stop the light working as you will have no earth for the alternator as I found out on my build,you will need to file the coating off by the fixing bolts,also the speed sensor position is critical 2mm of prop bolts

Check all connections and earths are good, might want to use a continuity tester while you are at it.

Sorry for the delay in replying, been doing checks.

 

I have got a good earth through the alternator mounting brackets. I have got continuity on the red cable from the alternator to the gauges but nothing on the black cable.

The engine to chassis earth strap is connected and getting a good earth
