So what do you do if you discover a split in a driveshaft boot doing final checks before the car goes in for MOT and there isn't time to go and buy another boot, never mind fit it?

 

Fit a bicycle puncture repair patch to the split, that's what you do. Ten minutes and it was job done, could have been 5 minutes with self adhesive patches. The boot was still clean so I think it must have been nicked when I swapped the dff a few weeks ago.

 

And it passed too, so all set for another year's motoring.

Although I commend your quick fix stevie .... It wouldn't have failed, rear cv boots are only an advice.
