This mod for the Cortina based S7 rear axle to help stop axle wind up The RHE Fifth link set that this mod replaces 1) Remove fifth link set up if fitted ( if it is fitted you will need to plug the hole in the top of the diff casing) 2) You will need all 4 links from the rear axle of a mk1 Nissan Micra (two are for spares in case you mess the first two up) 3) Shorten two of the links by cutting out a 2 inch section of the tubing. Insert a bar between the two parts and push the two ends of the link together. Weld the section together when you have fitted all the brackets to the axle and the body/chassis and you have made sure of the length of…

Hi everyone, I've bought a Tiger Supercat which has restored my enthusiasm for cars/driving again. As an old git, I need leading by the hand a bit and wondered if anyone knows of an LED headlight with the outer light ring that stays on when the ignition is on as a daylight running light? If they are available, does anyone know the manufacturer or where they can be bought please, I can't see any on ebay? Has anyone fitted them? I don't suppose it's a straight swap and imagine I'd need an auto electrician to sort, any thoughts or advice please would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Phil in Northumberland.

Hello community ! Sorry if I’m not following the rules — I didn’t see whether we were supposed to introduce ourselves or do something specific before posting on the forum (if that’s the case, I’ll do it right away). I’m currently considering buying an RH S7 (Cortina Mk4-based). I’d like to know if anyone has ever converted an RH to left-hand drive. If there’s any record of such a conversion, a guide, a kit, or a parts supplier to recommend, I’d really appreciate it. Also, could you give me an idea of the level of difficulty involved? Thanks!

anybody ever had any issues with oil leaking from the distributor on pinto engine.... Or around that area... Cannot quite make out if every time I drive the car it's the distribution or the fuel pump leaking oil. At least I know where the bloody leak is coming from on the gearbox sump....... Thanks for grounding it Nikki...! 😡 Oh well accidents will happen (shame it was the cars first time on the road this year).

Hi, Just wondering if anyone can help with this, I bought a superspec a month or so ago and received a brand new carbon fibre aero screen with it. I'm not going to use it and as it hasn't been drilled or fitted I though I could sell it. I am trying to find out what sort of price I could sell it for but I can't find it anywhere, second hand or brand new. The previous owner said he bought it for £600 but I just want to double check that as they seem to sell at a huge range or prices. It's in an ECF Composites box and they do do carbon fibre products but I can't find anything to do with cars on their website. If anyone has any advice or can fin…

Hi, bit of help please? Does anyone have a cooling system diagram for a 2.0 pinto engine? I am wanting to put an expansion tank in due to air locks. I have the tank & I know it needs to go high up as possible, I have a suitable location for it in mind. Also am I right in thinking that the heater pipes need to be low down as possible too? Any help appreciated! Cheers Phil

I have done a huge amount with the car over the last year and am now going to look at the geometry in a bit more detail, currently I have camber wedges on the back and little else, I have looked at the Haynes build your own sports car by Chris Gibbs, some very old notes from Track Developments and came across Caterham CSR settings and this is the confusion I am trying to deal with. across the 3 the range for camber front is 0.25-1.5 degrees rear 0.66-2 degrees caster 5.5-6 degrees (CSR only) Toe front 0-0.5 rear 0.16-3 i am tempted to start with the Haynes settings but for now what are other peoples RH S3 settings for Caster, Camber & To…

A very good afternoon. I am in need of advice. The top hose on my Robin Hood Series III (2 litre pinto) has now reached the end!! It is very tired and split and will, I imagine, burst before too long. I have asked Burton Engineering about a replacement but they are unable to recognise from which original vehicle it may be from, by looking at the photographs I sent them. Before I possibly spend an eternity looking through online catalogues ...does anyone have any knowledge as to where I might best start looking for a suitable replacement? Thank you ... and would a silicon replacement be any advantage - providing I can track down the correct part?

One of our club members has recently passed away and his family has asked about getting his car restored. The car is a very rare Adams Roadster and is in good condition but many pieces. Does anyone know of a car restorer who may be able to work on this car (preferably in the SE)? I've suggested this would be a very expensive thing to do (I assume most car restorers will charge £100+ per hour labour?) but I promised I'd ask...

My newly bought RH EXMO with 2 L Pinto motor has a shortened sump - does one fill it with less oil now than originally? If so, how much oil is required. Secondly, if less oil is required, but original quantity was used would this cause the starter motor to turn over the motor in a more ` laboured `way - that is more slowly and lead to difficult starting? She`s fine once she`s warm - turns over and fires nearly immediately then. Many thanks for any advice, Jacques. 07553485183 jacqes.vins@yahoo.com

When I built my 2B I didn't do anything to the engine apart from change the valve oil seals as it smoked on the over-run and at idle. It ran very well with no noises so I just dropped into the 2B. Its ran absolutely fine for 3.5k miles but over the weekend it started to blow smoke out of the exhaust under load. At the same time its developed a slight misfire under light throttle. I'm no Pinto expert but I'm thinking a ring has let loose possibly? There are no mods to the engine, its set up as it was in its donor Sierra Sapphire.
