Rear Brake Pipes

The next step in the build i to pipe up the rear of the car, I have the T-piece mounted on the seatback panel with the feeder pipe going down the tunnel. All that is done.

But where do the flexible pipes go? I have always assumed that they need to between the bodywork and the trailing arms

However because I have rear disk brakes, I have been told I need flexible pipes between the trailing arms and the calipers

Does that mean I need 4 flexible pipes on the rear of the car? :pardon:

Has anyone got any pictures?

Why not run s/s flexi's all the way from the t peice to the caliper , fewer joints ,fit and forget, nearly bullet proof ,worth consdring ? mower man

Long runs Mick unless using braided lines I think it would feel a bit "soft" at the pedal. I would go for standard ford caliper to trailing arm (they are only short) and as short as I could get away with for the others, if they have to be over 150mm or so then go for braided ones.

Up's just read your post again Mick you do say braided "Sorry"

Rear disk brakes fitted, going to ordering some braided hoses today

The disc are spiral grooved, and appear to be handed, have I got them the right way round. The discs weren't marked to which side they should go

I would say thats correct.

Any water in the groove will be swept to the outside by the pad.

The outside of the groove is open, whereas the inside is closed.

Nice setup BTW....how does the handbrake work on that caliper?

Just seen the lever at the rear of the setup....

I would have expected that to be facing the front to meet the cable?

But I stand to be corrected...

Also you will probably need to disconnect the caliper to bleed it with the

bleed nipples uppermost....you only need to bleed the 2 top ones

inner & outer. Wilwood (HI-Spec) provide 4 so you can mount it either way up.

Thanks

The hand brake clips into the back of the caliper and the lever operates a separate set of pads which should mean it is easier to get it through the IVA. I must admit that I have been very impressed with hi-spec and their customer service.

Cheers

They're just down the road from me....they have helped a lot with the Wilwood brakes on Ray's Vette.

We kept having to replace front disk pads which kept breaking up.

We took a set to the head honcho there & he came up with a suitable compound which has worked well for the short

season we had last year.
