Seat Belts

Standard 3 point belt is OK for IVA as long as the mountings are strong enough. Any OEM 3 point belt will have a label stitched onto the end of the webbing with a E mark on it to show it's approved (although obviously in a different application).

Get a photo of the label, it might not be easily visible with the belt installed.

Posted here so it's info for all. Florin 2B is fitted with a pair of Securon seat belts Model No.264 ( can be viewed on their web-site.) The retractors can be fixed at any angle, there are 2 adjusters on each reel to make locking occur. The reel is mounted (on Florin) in the "space" between inner & outer side panels (if inners were fitted) bolted to an angle plate which is in turn bolted to the "elephant ear" that carries the Sierra cross-tube & the side chassis rails. The top webbing mount is on the roll bar around 4" up from the seat back panel. A plate, half round in section with 7/16 UNF nut welded on was fixed inside the roll-bar by 2 x M5 caphead set screws. The buckle was fitted near tunnel to a threaded plate mounted on 40mm angle iron running across car at the junction of seat back & floor panels.

Make sure the webbing runs freey to ensure the belt is always tensioned correctly; take loads of photos to show all hidden detail, plus pics of parts you make before fitting. Read & read again the IVA manual to get positions correct.
