Intelligent Ecu ?

How clever are ECUs ? My Superspec exhaust has been blowing for a few weeks, making a lovely noise and burbllng on the overrun but otherwise running and idling nicely. MOT coming up so fixed it yesterday. Noise and burble all gone, but first time out she is idling very roughly and doesn't seem to be running as smoothly.

 

Is that logical behaviour ? Will it self heal ?

reboot? disconnect battery so it re learns

Lamda sensor?

It is used to get the mixture right at low power settings and does not like exhaust sealant on it.

That does seem to have worked. Either that or it is a quick learner Just did that and took her out and she is running much better, lovely and smooth.

Early ford ecu's like a short drive to reset themselves norm between 5and10miles

It's a Rover ECU, but seems logical it might need the same, that would explain it..
