Zetec - Mt75 Conversion Any Advice?

I currently have a RH 2B, one of the first ones, it currently has a 1.6 pinto engine and i am looking to change this to a zetec, probably 1.8 as it seems much cheaper than the 2.0. I plan to fit this to the MT75 gearbox.

Has anybody done this already thyt has any advice or info that may be of use. Also i am a bit unsure of the extra parts i will need, as i understand it i need the following:

1.8 flywheel therfore a escort 1.8 clutch

Spigot bearing

Modified clutch release bearing (westfield do one for £55, any other places??)

Lucas Starter (which one i am unsure of LR707 i think, anyone know what this is off)

Sierra sandwich plate

If anyone knows the best places to get these please let me know, preferable as cheap as poss as money is a big factor.

Thanks

Simon

THE MT75 has been fitted to a 2b with a bit of hacking by Graham Bowden with his dohc injection 2b with a mag right up last year. He is at present doing a re build after a bonnet opening inicdent same engine and mods but no aligator bonnet.

i am fitting the mt75 g. box to my 2004 2b what needs doing is remaking a new propshaft to move the large doughnut flexible joint to the other side of the chassis legs. approx 4" to the rear to do this i also needed another prop for one of the fittings £20. and another shaft that goes through the gearbox that the doughnut fits on.£20 from a gearbox repair guy.weld up and balance. bobs ur uncle.p.s. notch the gear shift support bracket and re strengthen.

the large doughnut flexible joint

I'm not 100% understanding just what you mean, but if you've got a propshaft with a rubber doughnut as a flexable drive, then BIN IT! straight away!! They are deadly!! under no circumstances do you want one. go and get a Sierra propshaft and have it shortened to the length you want, but don't! don't! use a rubber doughnut.
