Foamed Panel Advice

Is there any method of bolting a trim panel that is mdf covered in 1/2 foam and black vinyl with m5 screws without it causing the foam to pull in and end up looking like the foam has gone wavy?

Use a sleeve over the bolt the thickness off the foam thus stopping the bolt squashing the foam.

If you can get to the back of panel you are mounting it on then bolts glued/glassed to the trim panel before you foam and cover it. Alternatively think of all the tintop door trims with never a screw or bolt showing.
