Speedo Pickup Magnets

Putting it on a driveshaft will only give true readings in a strait line.

Inner shaft on a corner will always slow down and the outer will speed up.

If used to it that's ok and should get you through IVA.

Same thing as picking up off an abs ring.

Just looking for a plan b. I'm going to try and pick up the prop bolts, but space is tight. I couldn't get the speedo to pick up from the abs sensor which is annoying, would have been really simple!

I have not checked for suitability yet but was thinking of putting a clamp able bracket around the nose cone of my diff with a bracket to hold the sensor welded to that.

I would then use a grub screw to lock the clamp and stop it turning on the nose cone.

Hi Paul.

Any chance of a picture of your sensor bracket when you get chance.

I asked GBS to fit sensor to prop as changing engine and box, but because I had an mt 75 at that time, they used speedo sensor in that.

I done have a photo of the bracket

I did find a ready made hole on the fixed frame that supports the diff on the bracket that hold the moving arms of the suspension

I may have drilled a second hole to make 2 mounting points for the bracket

Only 2 magnets on the prop flange- prop shaft joint.

Drilled two indentations into flange and fitted with seal dire. With more magnets I got an unstable reading. I worked out how msnhpses were needed to cover 1 mile.,( a tape measure and s bit of maths) and set the switches accordingly. GPs speedo app on phone says this is accurate.
