Alright all,

Saw an advert in the paper today, inverter welder at lidl, 70 quid, anyone know if they are any good, 3 years warranty included, I'd post a link but I haven't got a clue what to do.

Cheers Mark

think you would be better with the converter. can swap rods from steel to stainless. without getting diff gas

Better off with a cheap second hand mig welder.

due to shield gas getting expensive I've gone back to stick if you learn to stick weld you'll find everything else much easier.

Already got a stick welder, I was just thinking that when I have something to weld 40 or 50 foot up on a scaffold a little inverter would be a darn sight easier to haul up there, I was just wanting to know if anyone had used this model and what it was capable of with regards to weld penetration on various guages of steel.

I really need to learn how to weld. 1st i need some engine mounts made.

2nd i will need to weld my s7 body to a folded steel chassis.

Can our resident welding expert's advise on if this is a suitable tool? I can stretch to £70
