Wiper Arms

Which way would be the best way to have the wiper arms park and how long do the wipers need to be when cut down as im about to start fitting my wipers this week.

 

I have the lucas mini wiper system with the wheelboxes.

Having recently fitted the mini wiper system to my Superspec, I've parked them on the driver's side. I just copied other cars I've seen, although some others park them on passenger side. I think I get about 100deg sweep so the wipers just go past vertical, although I think you can get different gearwheels for the lucas motor. Mine seems ok in practice but I haven't driven the car in pouring rain to really test them!

 

I got 9" wiper blades which fit nicely but I had to cut the stainless steel adjustable arms down to about 7" from wheelbox pivot to ensure the blades didn't hit the top of the screen.

I managed to get 10" wiper blades on mine (changed from the original 7") which gives a really good sweep while just clearing the top.. Like Andy I have them parked on the driver side.

Well we have gone for middle as my dad put a hole in there but does anyone know how to wire up the mini wiper motor to the ford focus wiper stalks to get it to self park
