Try whacking the starter with a piece of wood ...my celonoid sticks same sort of noise .. works for me ...and cheep.....keep the wood in the back of the car

Starter motor problem solved.

 

The fastening bolts had dropped out.

 

Yep.

 

It was lying on the engine bay floorplate, its flange a good 10mm from the bellhousing.

 

Anybody had this happen to them?

 

I'll fit a couple of new bolts.

 

I'll be putting locktite on the little blighters this time.

 

No cruel words please.

Starter motor problem solved.

 

I think you would have been better telling us it was the starter motor stripped

Fairly easy to spot then!!

 

Good news it wasn't expensive or time comsuming

when the battery goes flat, it will be the same size, and the same dimensions.

Once bought a tin top as a non runner with the same problem (made a few bob on that one)
