The front brakes that are fitted to my 3a are sierra 4x4 vented disc's and pads and i have had to replace them twice in the last 2000 miles for juddering, is this excessive???

I have checked the calipers for been seized and they seem ok any ideas???

I had a similar problem on a motorbike, the brakes were binding just enough to heat the disks and warp them. If you go on a run without using the brakes (use handbrake) then the disks should be cool.

Either that or there is some crud on the mating surface where the disk mounts onto the drum.

 are you using good pads? if you use cheap ones some times thay give prob's juddering, squecking, low millage on replacement, try using ford items cost more but good ones. also try dial gauge on the run out on disks, <_<

I've had this problem on mine twice now  , (once in France at Le-mans, new discs = £50!!!!! only £11 each over here! :gdit: )

Can't put a finger on why it happens, but the discs did warp (checked them) I finally renewed the whole lot, discs, pads, & calipers, not had any problems since (Touches wood several times! ;) )
