Hi Matt,

You must have got yours from Jono the capri man too then.

He sent me the multiplug and oil line too. (paid £3 extra for that though)

Has anyone got a definitive answer as to whether the Capri speedo is accurate, or at least innaccurate on the right ( according to the SVA that is) side, when connected to the Sierra Gear box?

I've got an instrument cluster, connector and oil pipe from the Lancashire Capri Centre, and whilst if I am playing it safe, I plan on installing the Sierra dash pre SVA, if I knew for certain the speedo was accurate it'd save alot of time and effort to fit the Capri clocks pre SVA and be done with it.

Is the truth out there?????

hi Phil

My car went threw SVA with the Capri clocks.

First time they failed but on closer inspection the needle was well below the zero mark.

I reajusted the pointer to zero and passed the second time no probs.

I have been followed at speed and was told i was driving at the speed my clock read (to fast :D )

Hi Mitch,

Easiest way to tell is that at 3000 rpm in fifth gear you will be doing around 75mph with a 3.6:1 diff and about 65 with the 3.9:1 unit. Of course this all hinges on whether your speedo is accurate but if you have checked it against another car we should be ok.

Cheers,
