They say there is no smoke without fire and just after that photo was taken the thing erupted into flames, which the two behind John could have done with as they (Mike and Andy) had a job to get theirs going, but all was well in the end when the huntsmen let about 50 hounds out of that lorry . This was actually John demonstrating how to hide the food from the dogs by use of a cleverly produced smoke screen.

The attached picture is the same scene from the other side!

Look like under cover hunt saboteurs to me. Put up a smoke screen to hide the fox, then feed the hounds so they are not interested.
