Anybody tried to fit a bike engine into a Hood yet?

I'm pretty sure the consensus last time this was discussed was that the 2B is too heavy to make it worth the effort.

 

Of course, the lightweight may change all that... if they ever tell me how heavy it is...

I'm not convinced... The Hyabusa engine or some of the engines destined for heavier touring bikes have more torque than the 1.6 Pinto.... Might just burn clutches but if Rizla's is anything to go by they are cheap & easy to replace anyhow...

It's a good idea (scary, mind!) but the engine is a flat 4 boxer and probably couldn't be made to fit between the chassis rails in the engine bay as it is very wide. There would be complications with the steering column & brake master cylinder too. A V6 or V8 will fit but I believe it isn't as wide, or rather the extra width is around the cylinder heads so you'd have more leeway wrt the engine bay width.

 

If you see what I mean.... Having said that I don't know the exact dimnensions of the Impreza engine - perhaps I should find out, because I like the idea a lot!

I,m just in the process of destroying the Galaxy's auto box so could i fit the VR6 to a type 9?????
