    Sva

i am proposing to sva without a screen does anyone have any info on how they dealt with mounting the rear view mirror and covering the vent slots. i was proposing to bolt a piece of wood through the vent holes and then attaching the rear view to this. Has anyone done anything similar or can suggest a better way of doing it. phil
  3. thanks les will let you know how i get on hope to get time this evening thats as long as the other half dont have other plans for me!! phil
  4. thanks for the note will have another look at tomorrow. Spent another evening looking at it and trying to follow nigels suggestions. decided not to use the double green also seems have this correct. the VG diag shows black which connects to the pale green black comming from the indicator side of the stalk i decided this must be incorrect. so took the black from the pin on the washer side as this was a live feed and connected this to the light green black then took a wire back from the pump and connected to the black yellow going back to pin W. This then gave me a complete circuit when dreppresing the washer pump button. VG has the above black yellow connected connecting back to a black on vg loom also wired into the black on the washer stalk which i disconnected above. Dont know what effect this will have had on the rest of the loom / circuits but the lighhts all seem to work ok. I note you suggest that i only need to connect the pump to an earth could you please clarify. Anyway thanks for your note i will study tommorrow. Once i have sorted out finally i will post some final instructions as am sure this must be a problem for anyone who has the vg loom. Phil
  5. come on guys can anyone help. phil
  6. its the later switch. taken supply from 53c Black to pump via pale green black on vg loom ignored other two geen wires which have constant suppy taken separate return back to w but this leaves pump constantly on. now run out of fuses will need some more before i can proceed. god this is frustrating spent the whole day on this and still no end in sight. going to sleep on it hopeing that some night hawk hoodie has a great idea. There must be someone out there who has used the vg loom and has had the same problem. I have follwed the instructions so it must be an error on the diagramme cos i am sure that i have it as per the vg instructions have checked over enough times. ps with the power from 53c if i take the other terminal back directly to earth the pump opperates so i guess its somewhere on the stalk thats incorrect but just cant see which pin it should be. will log on tomorrow in the hope someone will have come to my aid. Phil
  7. just tested the pale green and the double green connectors one shows 12v when key on auxillary the other shows 12 v when ignition turned on. however even with no pump connected when the washer button is depressed (a bit like me) it blows a fuse. does this help in anyone comming forward with any practical suggestions. phil
  8. understand the bit about the battery but not switches. the part seems to be either bg11k665 or b517x does this help? with ref your comments can you suggest what to do to resolve the problem of the pump being constantly on in terms of altering the vg set up / connecting into so that it works. thanks phil
  9. the situation develops. have now just test wired up the wiper motor and this works fine although intermittant setting is also a slow so unless anyone has any suggestion on this front wipers seem to work as required. that onley leaves the washer pump which is still constantly live so if anyone has suggestions on this front i will be a happy bunny again and can move on to what i intended starting at 11 this morning. ps any suggestions on the battery drain problem? phil
  10. I have looked and the pump has two connectors one has a double green female and the other a green and black female is it one of these greens you are refering to. At the stalk end i have a green comming out which connects to one of the connector blocks on the VG loom i have this connected to the pale green red. just to be complete my brown white connects to green brown on the vg multi plug connector. black purple connects to a double bullet which also picks up the brown white and black green from the column switch on the same side (lights) and then goes on to connect to the green on the othe vg multi plug connector and finally i have a red which is connected to the brown on the vg loom (small three wire connector) ps its not a problem with the column switch itself as i have changed over with the spare i had. phil
  11. right guys the rest seems to have worked. decided to put the battery on charge as it occured to me that the relays perhaps were attempting to work rather than shorting hence the buzzing and no fuses blowing. hey the fuel pump and lights are working again. That leaves me with two problems which someone may be able to help me with and they may be related to each other. First last night when i finised wiring up the lights they worked and the battery had power obviously by this morning the battery had drained (i am sure i did not leave anything on). second i still have the problem of the washer pump being live all the time (when the pump is connected it constantly runs) could this have caused the attery drain? I seem to have the wiring as per vicky green (relay version) has anyone encountered the same problem / can make any suggestions. phil

not that anyine can help but i just had to get out of the garage. everything was fine lights worked flashers worked fuel pump worked etc but attached washer pump to test out and shorted out. checked connections as per vicky green and as far as i can see everything is correct . Tried again but now fuel pump wont work its relay seems to be shorting out lights relay dont work and flashers seem to be shorting as well - flasher unit again seems to be shorting out. All fuses checked and ok. cant see what i have done but bugger i was so close to all the electrics working. As i say just had to come away from it but if anyone has any suggestions!!! phil

  22. hi guys getting round to fitting lights does anyone have any dimensions as to where to mount front indicators to nose cone. also nick tells me the repeat indicators are none compliant as supplied with kit any suggestions for supplier of compliant ones. does the supplied front indicator comply or do you still need to add extentions. think i have attached image phil
  23. looked only confused. The MR2 seats i am using fit much better than the original sierra seats but its the seat belt anchorage (inside) points have the problem with as these need to be mounted to floor -no provision on the seat and just no room. Has anyone used the 2004 corbeau seats or can provide links to previous posts that i have not found. phil
