  1. .... and thanks to all for your replies so far! Keep 'em coming....
  2. Hi Bill, It's the four-branch type. Both the manifold and the steering column are already fitted. The alternator is positioned underneath the steering column. I'm not keen to have to redo all of this. My thinking is that I'll remove the pedal box so that I can jiggle it around a bit to see if that'll help to inspire. Failing that, I cold tinker with the nylon spacers on the pedal shaft. Thanks...
  3. Hi All, Well I've finally been able to make a start and get something done. After removing the runners from the seats and placing them in, it was still a stuggle to get in and seated. I've now fitted the diddy steering wheel too - much better. I did all this becauase I was a bit concerned about the pedals. Sure enough, they don't feel right at all - maybe it's my size tens? :-) Anyway, I'm not too bothered about the throttle pedal - I think I can cope with this OK. What's bothering me is the brake and clutch pedals. Firstly, the I'd like to move the clutch pedal over to the right a bit so that I can get my foot to the left and behind. This may not be possible however due to the limited amount of room. Secondly (and most importantly) the brake pedal is bang up to and catching on the steering column (see picture) This is definately not good! I suppose I could get the pedals cut, bent and welded but I seem to recall seeing an article about being able to move/modify the nylon bushes on the pedal shaft? Alternatively, it may be that the pedal box is simply not in the right place. My option here would be to remove it all and start over? I was led to believe that this is a potential problem area. I've done a trawl but not really found anything that helps. Any ideas anyone? Thanks.....

    Gauges

Hi Drew, Ooops! I've not logged in for a while. If you still have the gauges, I may be interested. I do need a connecting plug though (maybe I could get one from somewhere else eh?). Any pics? Let me know. Thanks...

    Pics As Promised

Hi Jay, Firstly, your car looks very good - Well done! I just hope mine turns out as good too, but I'm a long way off yet. I've heard people say though that those little indicators (on the cylcle wings) aren't SVA compliant. Am I right?

    Gauges

Thanks for all your replies guys, You certainly are a helpfull bunch. I haven't got around to even laying a spanner on my car yet (won't be too long now though) and you're all giving me some good ideas. On the guages front I think I'm going to try eBay for some Capri Clocks. Thanks again. No doubt I'll be posing some more questions in the near future...

    Colour Swap?

Thanks Guys, I'll have a think about it (still some way off actually fitting these parts yet) and maybe go down the route of spraying them myself. If it dosn't cost too much and I bugger them up at least I can then decide on getting the job done professionally. Thanks again...

    Colour Swap?

Hi All, I've just gone out and tried to price a respray for the five plastic/GRP bits (2 x Clycle Wings, 2 x Rear Wing Trims & 1 x Nose Cone). This is because the kit I've purchased was part built and I therefore didn't get a colour choice! My plastics are not yet fitted and are in Red. It's not that I don't like red but I really wanted Green. Anyway the respray's going to cost me £260 !!!! I don't suppose there's anyone out there in a similar position wanting red plastics instead of green???? Worth asking though. Grizzly.
  10. Hi All, I've still got some "housey" type projects on the go but my thoughts (along with the somewhat warmer weather) are already turning to "the build". I went the the Stafford show and marvelled at the tools on offer but am somewhat bewildered as to what to buy and so ended up buying nothing! Of course, I know I'll be needing to buy plenty of Pop Rivets - but what sizes should I be looking at getting? I'm also taken by the idea of using Rivnuts in certain areas (those that I feel I may need to remove at a later date for either maintenance or modifications). Again though, the choice is bewildering. A ray of light though - www.zygology.com - gave me some useful info. I still need to know though whether to go for Stainless Steel, Steel or Alluminium. Also, whether or not I need splined rivnuts? Once I have a better idea of what I need, I'll also be looking for a Rivnut setting tool. I'm sure you guys can advise me on what to get and where to get it all from? Many thanks...

    Nurburgring

I went round last year in a TVR (unfortunately I didn't drive). It really was something else. If you like the footage you can get this sort of stuff on DVD. Check out http://www.dukevideo.com/products/3480.htm or http://shop.scoobynet.co.uk/Product.asp?ProductID=1124 to name but two. Very exciting and very draining too eh?

    Gauges

I'm some way off this particular point yet but I'm considering a fancy set of white faced gauges for my RH (Programmable speedo). Does anyone know the best place to get them from?
  13. Hi All, I'm a new member and will be building (or rather hoping to complete) my RH in 2005. Here's wishing you all a Happy new Year!
  14. I could do with the Oil Filler Cap Sorry though - Nowhere near Taunton
