  1. If you have fuel in your oil your engine bearings could be destroyed thus throwing metal thought-out your engine = very bad

If bearings are damaged you could be getting knocks which is what would cause the noise as there is space between the bearing and what ever it was against (in my case big end bearings so con rods were rattling on the crank- not good)

  2. Not being negative just saying what work is required, I know if I was to do it again I would not use the land rover one.

A quick and easy fix for fuel surge or at least worth a punt is that foam you can get to go in your tank which helps stop the fuel sloshing around

  3. 3k miles is alot to run with watered down oil just think how many revolutions the engine has done in that time, you will find when you take the oil out a thick ivory coloured sludge at the bottom just Imagen that going around your engine causing no end of damage.

I would drain the oil and check that first if it has metal in it then check your bearings

  4. Not sure about oil pressure, my gauge isn't calibrated and is always off the scale.

Smelt the cap, smells of petrol which sounds dodgy...

I remember you saying it's not been turned and was running really rich. If your oil smells like petrol it's because the extra fuel going in is getting mixed with the oil which is a big problem as it will nacker your bearings as it isn't a lubricant, one possible reason why my big end bearings got destroyed as mine oil was pertoly

  5. Maybe the way forward would be getting club discounts on pre-organised track days and getting a group of people to go? I'd rather pay a bit extra and go to a track than race around cones on an airfield tbh

I posted a track day up a couple of weeks ago ran though javelin that we can get discounts on with a bulk booking if your interested?

  6. While we work on getting a track day organised by the club i thought we could get at least one pre-booked track day in.

I think i have found a good option for everyone.

    TRACK: Blyton park (Eastern circuit)

    DATE: 8/7/18 (SUNDAY)

    PRICE: £139

For people that have been to Blyton before, this is not the standard track layout and looks to be more suited to 7 type cars with more turns.

The trackday can be booked through 'Javelin trackdays' through this link

    http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackdays/July/Blyton-Park-8th-July-2018

The format for the day is as follows

Layout : Eastern Circuit (1.4 miles) Format : Open Pit Lane Noise : 95dba Drive By Overtaking : Right Hand Side on Straights Only

If you are interested in this event please let me know as if there is enough of us i may be able to get us a discount for the club, or you can just book yourself on with the link above and post on here so we know who is going.

Hope this is a good start for people towards new events for the club!!

  7. Had a couple of replays one from Mallory park wanting £18,000 plus wages for the staff needed for a one day event so that won't be happening lol.

Had another from castle combe at a more reasonable price of £5400 which includes all staff for the day and full use of the one of the main building for sign on and track viewing for the day.

But at the minute Anglesey is looking promising at a much lower price, only downfall is it's location, we will probably have to make a 2 day event of it but that's not always a bad thing. The price for a event at Anglesey will be much cheaper for everyone which is a bonus.

Still waiting on replies from a few other tracks so will update you all as more information comes in

  8. Thanks rich. I want to do this as member and non member to try and get more people into the club as well as the more people the cheaper it would be for everyone and higher chance of making a profit for the club

Doing it as £30 cheeper for members I have a plan to get people to join the club to save themselves money in turn helping fund the club for further events

  9. We only want to pay £20 for it though, club and non-members can fund the rest. Thanks! :D

haha well that depends on numbers, I'm sending messages out now on my lunch break so hopefully get a idea on price soon.

Lol, Sorry Matt, could`nt resist. Welcome to the world of sorting stuff out and asking for suggestions....

But seriously, yes good idea. I only have experience of Curborough, it`s very small and very safe and lots of fun. I know some of the Brummies have contacts.

Maybe ask Shyboy or Richy when you see them next.

After I did the photo shoot last year I though id have a go at s bigger event. after all the negative stuff going on at the min we need some positive vibes going on
