  3. Thanks Engine is a 2.0 pinto. Bought some of the gpz rubber( yes expensive) but they seem to work. Just need to get sone proper clips to hold the tight. Going for age related so emissions just need to pass that which should b ok once set properly. Thanks
  4. Thanks Steve Bought some from my local Kwak dealer so will give them a go. Inhad the original zx6r rubbers but they have an oval flanged end so would not fit. The gpz are round and loom perfect. Did you still fit a brace? Thanks Steve
  5. Hi Guys Went for my rolling road to get the engine set up to run right and pass emmissions for IVA on the 16th Sept, BUT...... did not really get too far. Main problems are that the sump is still leaking like a sive and lost about 0.25 of a pint in oil. The other big issue was that the rubbers holding the ZX6R carbs on are too short and the clamps were not getting a good enough hold. Suprising as this was all supplied by GBS with the manifold!! This was causing some good air leaks so not really able to get much done on the set up, but after a few runs found that the fuel pump was not man enough for the job. I used the ZX7 fuel pump but on tick over was about 2.5 PSI but when at about 5k revs was 1 PSI. So jobs i need to sort are silicone rubbers to bolt carbs down better, bigger fuel pump and regulator and stop the sump leaking (alreadty got this planned, thanks Gaz ). If anyone else has had these problems or knows a good way to fix any of them, please let me know. On the plus side at about 5k on the rollers at about 3/4 throttle is sounds awesome and it did not blow up so alls good really. Cheers Steve

    Rolling Road

Found a rolling road, just 1/2 mile from my front door. The company is ttp performance, bromsgrove. Www.ttp- performance.co.uk Malc is a nice guy and keen to help. They specialise in race set ups and will also get the emissions set so it passes the iva. Has anyone ever used them? Thanks Steve
  8. Thanks guys. 24 hours and no leaks. Will fit it back on the car Sunday and run up to temperature with a things crossed. Rolling road booked for Thursday so need to get it all back together. Cheers Steve
  9. Will empty the oil and give it a go with water, was just a little nervous as did not want to mix oil and water. Baffle looks easy enough. Something for my winter projects list!! Cheers
  10. Update... Thanks for the tips guys, it seems to have worked. Ground it back, miged it and filled with oil on the bench and after 2 hours, no sign of a leak. Will leave it overnight, but looks like job done. I might tackle some baffles after the iva!! Cheers Steve

Well it has arrived. Iva date is Friday 16th September at Kidderminster. Any tips? Wish me luck!
  17. Hay how, guess I will dig the mig out later!, Thanks guys
  18. Hi guys Fitted my new tow bar to the insignia in readiness for the iva. The bolting together bit was easy enough, but now to the wiring!!! I have identified the wires in the boot of the car and have a a 7 way bypass relay. My question is, do I just connect in with scotch blocks/ blade connectors? and do I need to put an inline fuse in between the 12v and the relay. Any help would be great. Thanks as always. Steve
  19. Hi guys Up date. Tried a bit of gasket sealer and this stopped the leak, so cleaned of the silicone and added solder. Thing started leaking again! Think the best thing to do is just grind it all back and reweld. Might try johns idea first!!
  20. Hi guys I thought that the sump plug was leaking, but turned out to be one of the welds just below. It's a shortened sump and where the welds had been dressed back you can see the join. My question is what's the best way to seal it. I put a bit of silicone over it and the leak stopped but want something more permanent. My thoughts are to us some solder or lead to seal it. Any thoughts? Cheers Steve
  21. This is what my local unholstry shop said. I can get orange leatherette the right colour so looks like the route i will be going down. Thanks
  22. Thanks for the tip but this is the first place i tried. They only do traditional colours, not kit car colours!! Nice and helpful lady though. Cheers Steve
  23. Hi guys Does anyone know where I can buy wing piping, but must be in orange. . Checked all the usual websites and found nothing. Thanks Steve

Had a similar problem on mine, it was an air leak. Check the gasket on the inlet manifold it sitting right. Cheers Steve
