  1. Ok it has finally stopped raining enough for me to take some pics of how i fitted the tunnel top hand brake.

I hope you havn't completed the task yet so these might be of some help. I basically made a mock tunnel out of stainless in a cheese wedge shape that fitted over the hand brake and left space for the cable like so, and then just carpeted over.

I just bolted the hand brake through the tunnel top tubes mounted on two cut down pieces of steel tubes leaving enough space for the mechanisium to work.

  2. 2 hours on the motorway, no side screens! no wind deflectors! still can't here out of my right ear, and those caterhams would not shut up :boohoo: . Ouch!

Good things us hoddies have two ears.

Had a really great time on sunday and gave the hood its first long run out and not a spluter.

    Well impressed :D

Got some great ideas and a great day out see you next year.

  3. No i personally changed them out to s's rivits so the stone gard is flush on the wing with beading around the out side.

PS i didn't use the tad pole beading (that is supplied) around the edge of the top sides and bottom of the stone gard because it leaves a rubbish finish around the bottom of the stone guard. So i used some normal small circular beading i will post pics 2morrow.

    hope this helps ;)

  4. Un-lucky, but a close call on most things.

P.s Which full filler cap do you have? Becoz i have the one supplied by the kit and it passed 2 weeks ago and the guy did even menchion it.

And my tank is exposed at the bottem and this wasn't a problem.

You win some you lose some, will sail through on the retest.

  5. Just wondering if any one could give any advice on how to fit the hood? Attached all the poppers to the windscreen, then watch the videos and got more confuzed. ;) Pics or info would be greatly appreaciated.

    Robbie

  6. We are talking about a seirra box here, coz on mine to get it into reverse you have to physically push down on the stick to be able to move it past first into reverse?

  7. Gillingham kent, at a nice 55-60 along the M2. The guy there is very reasonable, and is very easy to talk to. So i would recomend it to anyone who is thinking about it.

    so good luck

    And as asked

  8. 18th March, the date i have been dreading for about 3 weeks now. Lets get the important stuff out of the way first.

    IT PASSED FIRST TIME!! :D

I got up at five o'clock on the morning before to do some last minut tinkering, and i even gave it a clean too. Set off about 10 on the thursday for a slow and steady drive to maidstone. All went quite well apart from for-getting to tighten the front wheel nuts. opps. Arived at the test centre at 12.30 half an hour early, it started at 1pm.

The guy was a nice chap but he did pic me up on a few points, but to his credit he gave me the chance to rectify them.

    1. He would have liked to have seen bigger washers on the seat belt mounigs. - but he said it would be sufficient.

    2. Sharp edges on the number plate braket. - Easy silicone sealant and a file

    3. For got to tighten the fan belt. - Ouch what a noise, easily solved.

It wasn't as bad as i thought it would be, and i even had chance to enjoy the drive home. I have to get the windscreen fitted soon!!

All in all a very good day. The only advice i can give is "go for it," with your tool

    box next to you

    Here we go!
