trying to do that but cant pull the spring back far enough to attach it to the shoe. can get enough with two pairs of pliers but then need a third hand to put onto shoe. got a feeling it should not be that tight, and yes I do have the handbrake released!

my disc braked cable has a rotating plastic adjuster that is held in place by some angle iron. if you have similar, can you give yourself more slack?

Aahh, see.

One pair of normal pliers, one pair of snipe nosed.

Hold the Nipple in the normal ones and then use the snipe nosed to compress the spring. Once your happy with the protrusion of inner cable simply squeeze on the snipe nosed pliers to grip the inner cable and then you'll be able to release the normal ones and use your now spare hand to fit the shoe. ;)

Sometimes you just need a little pointer when you have never done it before, thanks nick all sorted. Just need to bleed brakes and put wings and wheels back on and can go back on road once taxed yah. Better handle better now after all this palarva!
