With the steering wheel that Robin Hood provides with the Super Spec (I guess it is the same for all kits) has anyone passed the SVA with out modifying it (ie adding padding or different bolts?

 

If you have had to as otherwise the car would fail, what has anyone used to modify this?

Someone somewhere has a Mountney pad that you can just velcro onto it so you have no problems re the SVA, Just ask around whos got them

Change the philips head scews for button heads

I just cut a layer of foam, covered it it a scrap of leaterette and wound a bit of insulating tape to keep it in place - took all of 5 minutes and SVA were happy with it

I had used the socket button screws and suspect they would have been happy enough without the padding - just didn't want to risk it

I must admit our SVA man said he would have been happy with just our socket button screws but like Neil says best not to risk it

My superspec passed SVA without the sterring pad. It never seemed to be an issue
