Yuk my Triumph Spitfire had one of them and the handling was scary

It wasn't the transverse spring that was the problem with the early spitfire and the Herald, there was only one uj in the rear drive shafts at the diff not the fact they had transverse springs so the camber angle change was crazy. The later cars had a extra joint on the outer shaft to correct this. Tucking under the rear wheel of a Herald around an S bend is quite exciting too :o :o
