Just a reminder....

Santa Pod has a RWYB this coming Saturday 20th September.

£10 entry as a spectator, another £20 to sign on for the whole day.

Crash hat compulsory, clothing optional :D I mean not fireproof as per Barkstone!!

possibkly arm restaraints needed for open top cars, but not really sure yet.

I'll be there to see how the XE with Toyo 888s compares with the Pinto and Michelin Pilots which

had a best time /speed of 15.2 and 86 mph.. I'm expecting to bettert that by a fair bit...

Looking forward to it!!

Nice one. You just can't keep away from that place can you? :D Wish I could make it but not quite ready. :(

If you get bored you could always take some pictures and then write a report for the mag. You know the kind of thing: arrival, registration, briefing, runs etc. :D

Says me who hasn't done a mag report for a while.

Cheers

Daren

PS Expecting at least two seconds off the pinto times!

the ones we use in the other car, i dont think are approved...

just 2 short straps adjustable in length, that slip over the bottom harness straps and around your wrist

made out of similar but narrower webbing to a seat bet

Thanks Guys,

just off to Mothercare now.... :D

I'll be getting a proper pair when I visit Charlotte in October to see

Big Dog racing, Loews motor speedway & Performance Automotive Racing to see Rays rebuilt engine run on the dyno....weve been promised 1800 bhp without the NOS... :(

Bob

PS theres 1/8 mile drag racing every night of the week at a different track within 50 miles of Charlotte

Big Dogs do the 1/8th in 4.7 seconds at 180 mph...

Well, I had a great day, good weather, and saw a large variety of cars.

Several 7s, some bike engined, and also saw Kevin? with his turbo'd Zetec.

Unfortunately, his extra power & a sticky track found the weak link in his drive train & broke a

modified drive shaft on his first run. Expect to see an ad in the wanted section soon!

My Toyo888s are pretty worn now, & the grip has gorn orf a bit, but even so still

hang on far better than any regular road tyres Ive had in the past.

Anyway, best time was 14.37 (previous best 15.2), best speed 92 (previous 86),

best 60 foot time 2.05 (which is reallygood & all down to the tyres).

Ive just put out a call for a suitable turbo to fit the engine I'll be building over winter.

Being thrashed by a Corsa fitted with an 8v turbod engine was just too embarassing

almost as embarassing as stalling my car on the second run.....

Cheers, Bob
