Oil Pressure

Having trouble maintaining oil pressure, at first and before the car was on the road i was getting 4 bar plus, soon after running the car my oil pressure dropped to under 2 bar.

I have known over fueling problems so replaced the oil (10w 40) 300 miles ago, oil pressure came back briefly to 3 bar but now settles at 2.5 dropping to around 2 bar stinking hot.

 

Pick up is close to the bottom of the sump under the recomended 8mm

 

Should i go to 20w 50 for a while?

I use 20-50 I would have thought 10 40 was a bit thin (and modern!) for a pinto.

30 psi ( in old money) when hot - I can only deram of that in my V6 MIne 's been running about 15 psi for last 3 years with no issues. but I would say 20 50 is the right oil.

20-50 is the correct oil for a pinto but with that pressure with 10-40 I would think is good so stick with it. I run my 180.000 miler on 10-40 all the time and tend to drive it like I stole it.
