Winter Hoodies

Whilst bored in work I have stumbled upon

Maplins Find

I am sure all you winter hoodies can appreciate the idea

I purchased the gloves some weeks back. Dont buy them unless you have rechargeable batterys as they go flat in minutes.

Your supposed to keep switching them on and off which is a bit of a pain.

What voltage were the gloves --- could they be wired in series or parallel to a cigar lighter---cables down the sleeves of your coat like your Mum used to do when you was a nipper to stop you looseing them. Or wire to a cordless drill battery--lots more capacity there.

If you want a serious pair of heated gloves look at the motorcycle clothing specialists, advantages come with speciallised battery and charger and they run for several hours continously on. problems? they will cost at least 10 X the price of the maplin version.

I was thinking about the power supply from the car also. was it 3xAAA batteries?

3x1.5v = 4.5V assuming they are in series

you could charge it off a fag lighter with a USB out put 5V (would not thought half a volt would make much difference)

But if it goes bang dont blame me

Normal solution --- buy a proper pair --- Hoodie solution --- wire in series with a 6volt lamp of same wattage(as gloves) --- plug into cigar socket=gloves working again AND light so people can see you waving in the dark.
