hi,i used a similar cone when i did mine but it has a nut and bolt in the narrow end to hold it in a vice.you do need a bit of muscle to get them on though.dont do what i did and put one on the wrong way round :80: :D the cone cost more than the boot so if you havent bought one yet you can borrow mine if you get over this way at all.hth.

jess.

I also used these from Panda Tools.

Took a whole 15 minute to fit both ends of one drive shaft.

You will find it easier with an extra pair of hands or a good vice on a bench.

I bought a couple from panda tools but didn't need to fit in the end but will do next winter in planned strip down. Service was very good.

I have been looking at these, because i need to replace mine

But everywhere i look they suggest the medium boot for the Sierra

They say the size of the medium boots is

“Drive shafts from 20mm to 35mm diameter

And cv joints from 75mm to 100mm diameter”

The measurements on mine are 24mm Drive Shaft and 60mm CV Joints

So surely the small is best for me

Size of Small - 20mm to 28mm diameter and cv joints from 65mm to 90mm diameter

The only reason I’m asking is just in case I’m missing something

I used the recommended "Medium" they fit very well, my shafts are 24mm & 60mm over the existing boot.
