I can only agree about the K series head gaskets.

My daughter has an MGF with 11k on the clock.

It started losing water & bubbling. When I checked the dipstick,

it had brown frothy foam & RUST on it.

Back under warranty, but not a good advert for MG/Rover.

Bob.

Having read through Dave Andrews site, I'm not convinced I was thinking about the k-series engine anyway as it is listed as 1.4, 1.6 or 1.8. The one I was thinking of is the 2-litre engine from the rover 220 and the coupe. Is this the t-series engine?

Yes! it just falls in cos that was what the kit was designed for. The injection inlet stickes above the bonnet so you need a bulge (simple bit of GRP from Robin Hood).

Lots of people have these engines including me.

that sounds a bit sh*te, does that mean the crank drops when you take head off. What happens if one of the caps drops off and falls in the sump.

much safer sticking with ford, i'm sure you'll agree Rizla

:D they are held by a slight taper as well but when putting the head back on you do your best not to drop the head bolts into the holes but lower them slowly, and yes they can be knocked off, then its sump of time B)
